MIT Case Study Initiative

I have worked as Video Producer & Editor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s STL Lab Case Study Initiative team. I have supported our creative director collaborating and acting as lead on the conceptualization and production of multimedia components of each case. I have worked on 3 cases taking place in South Florida, Mexico City, and Malaysia, where my role has varied depending on the needs of the case (see selected works below with role definitions).

The goal of this initiative is to inspire social responsibility among entrepreneurs and academics in the fields of architecture, planning, and real estate by humanizing traditional paper-based case studies for students. Watch a short video with more information here.

The Neighborhood

Runtime: 2:25
Role: Shot all video on location. Editing and post-production.

This video was used to contextualize the neighborhood surrounding the property that was the focus of the case. Up until this point in the case the students have a very broad understanding of the case subject and it was important to give an on-the-ground feel while challenging their expectation of traditional ways of consuming and engaging with media. This video allows a user to focus on the visual and audible landscape while allowing them to find the nuanced neighborhood characteristics.
